IPL SKIN TREATMENTS

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is a quick and effective way to tackle skin concerns and conditions by treating acne, rosacea, spider veins, and pigmentation

Our innovative, award-winning IPL technology uses broad wavelength light to break minimize unwanted redness and pigment while stimulating collagen and elastin production. This treatment targets multiple skin conditions, some of which may be resolved in as little as one session.

A broad wavelength light is pulsed onto the area of concern during your treatment. The heat that is produced by the light stimulates collagen production, shatters pigmented lesions, breaks down dilated blood vessels, and kills bacteria, thus reducing inflammation and acne.

  • Intensive Pulse Light (IPL) Skin Rejuvenation is one of the most effective methods of treating skin damage in a non-invasive way. IPL is not a laser, but a broad wavelength light that is pulsed onto the skin. Its broad spectrum of light makes each treatment capable of improving multiple conditions at the same time

The Stellar M22 IPL device used at The Lip Loft comes with a range of heads and filters that are treatment-specific. This allows our experienced team to deliver an individually tailored treatment according to your skin type.

For Rosacea, IPL light therapy uses wavelengths to absorb Oxyhemoglobin found in the blood causing redness. The heat from the IPL destroys capillaries causing rosacea. Results can vary, you may need more than 1 session for best results.

  • Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses IPL technology to help improve and reduce some of the most common skin complaints such as;

    • Acne Breakouts

    • Age Spots / Sun Spots

    • Fine lines and wrinkles

    • Broken Capillaries

    • Rosacea

    • Excessive Flushing / Redness

    • Spider Veins

    • Large Pores

    • Stretch Marks

  • The Lumenis M22 IPL treatment creates heat inside the blood vessels, which closes the vessel walls, eventually causing the vein to disappear. The treatment is very precise and only impacts the selected blood vessel and not of the surrounding skin.

Lumenis technologies enable cooling of your skin between pulses to reduce the chance of damaging surrounding skin.

  • The Lumenis® Stellar M22 IPL Photorejuvenation treatment works with your skin to remove your imperfections and stimulate collagen and elastin production over a sequence of treatments. Some skin concerns such as shallow pigmentation and age/sun spots and spider veins may be cleared with as few as 1-2 treatments.

Lumenis® IPL pulses penetrate the tissue and create heat, targeting the skins imperfections in a controlled manner. The body’s natural process then removes the treated tissue, while collagen and elastic fiber stimulation occurs, resulting in a visible improvement in skin tone and overall appearance.

Typically 3-6 sessions with 4 weeks in between are suggested to achieve optimal results for most skin concerns.

Immediately following treatment, you may experience some redness which will usually disappear within a few hours. In most cases, makeup may be immediately applied, and daily activities can be resumed the very same day.

  • The Lumenis® IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Acne treatment enables your provider to greatly reduce your acne, redness and pigmentation, to improve tone and texture to enhance your overall skin health.
The unique Lumenis® IPL technology utilizes light flashes over the treated area, triggering a biochemical response that will eventually kill the bacteria within the pores as well as inflamed sebaceous glands that contribute to breakouts.
IPL is a non-invasive solution on inflammatory acne with little to no downtime. Immediately following treatment, you may experience some redness that will usually disappear within a few hours. In most cases, makeup may be applied immediately, and daily activities can be resumed the very same day.

  • The Treatment

Your IPL Photorejuvenation treatment will start with a cleanse of the skin before glasses OR goggles will be placed over the eyes to protect them from the light. A cooling gel will be applied and the IPL device will then be gently pressed onto the skin and emit an intense pulsed light which then passes through the skin epidermis and penetrates deeper into the dermis where the pulsed light energy heats up and stimulates cells called fibroblasts to encourage the production of fresh collagen. IPL emits a wide range of light waves which also work to reduce the appearance of redness, acne bacteria, brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and discoloration in the skin as they absorb the light.

    Aftercare

    After your IPL Photorejuvenation Treatment

You may need to have several treatments of IPL Photorejuvenation to achieve your desired result. Our skin specialists usually recommend 3-6 treatments spaced 1 month apart. Once your course of treatment is finished you will notice an improvement in skin discoloration, redness, sun damage, and age spots. Your skin will have an overall fresh and rejuvenated appearance.

Most patients are able to return to their regular activities shortly after treatment. Your skin may be red and sensitive for a few hours following treatment, similar to a sunburn. You should avoid exercise, exposure to the sun, and hot water for 48 hours.

  • Almost any area of the face or body may be treated. Areas with hair may result in temporary or permanent hair loss.

Areas that are recently sun exposed or actively tan can not be treated.
